I have been involved in the IPM Diploma in Motivation since in conception and I can testify to the fact that the course is as fresh today as it was in 2005. Not only is it a thoroughly sound grounding in the theories and practice of reward and recognition marketing – it is also kept up to date by a team of dedicated industry volunteers (like me!). John Sylvester, Director P&MM

The Diploma in Motivation is hard wired into our training programme for all our client facing staff and we thoroughly recommend it as a means of both increasing skills and benchmarking staff. Debbie Donaldson, International Development Director, Grass Roots Group

Course overview

The IPM Diploma in Motivation is a qualification specifically designed for the reward and recognition industry. It takes the form of a distance-learning programme with 14 questions and a set brief being completed over a five-month period. Candidates will study at their own pace utilising the study tools provided, as well as carrying out their own research.

The aim of the course

The course is designed to provide a good overall introduction to Motivation and to deliver a qualification that is recognised by the industry at large as demonstrating a basic understanding and proficiency. It is also the aim of the course to increase standards of professionalism in the industry and provide a benchmark for employers.

It will give candidates the basic foundation knowledge that is necessary to:

  • Appreciate the role of Motivation campaigns in the marketing mix and in a Sales and HR context.
  • Plan, instigate and manage effective Motivation campaigns with confidence.
  • Effectively brief and co-ordinate the various elements and suppliers involved in implementing Motivation campaigns.

Who the course is designed for

  • Clients responsible for staff motivation – using agencies and doing it in-house.
