Nissan signs Hoy and Whitehead to mentor Olympic and Paralympic champions

Wednesday January 22, 2014 at 12:00pm
Nissan has created a new campaign, with the tagline #UniteAndExcite, to underscore its official partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB in the run-up to the Rio Olympics in 2016. The #UniteAndExcite campaign will provide fans with exclusive behind-the-scenes access to athletes’ stories and preparation and news of how Nissan’s innovative technology will enhance performance. The exclusive content will feature on a dedicated brand hub, www.Nissan.co.uk/uniteandexcite Olympian Sir Chris Hoy and Paralympian Richard Whitehead MBE will be ambassadors for the campaign and mentors for a new generation of Nissan-sponsored British athletes. The campaign kicks off with a film featuring Hoy, which is aimed at bringing to life the winning combination of Nissan’s innovation, each athlete’s determination and the support of the fans under the #UniteAndExcite banner. The campaign will also be supported nationwide in dealerships. As the #UniteAndExcite team grows, more exciting communications will be developed following Team GB and ParalympicsGB’s progress on the road to Rio. The British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association partnership and ambassador relationships were brokered by leading sport and entertainment agency, Fuse, while advertising agency TBWALondon created the campaign. Nissan Ambassador and six time Olympic Gold Medal winner Sir Chris Hoy says: “I’m hugely excited to be a part of Nissan’s Team GB & ParalympicsGB partnership. Nissan is famed for its innovation and excitement, and the #UniteAndExcite partnership will see the excitement of the Games made more accessible to the British public, whilst Nissan’s innovation support will mean a huge amount for the athletes throughout their preparations for Rio 2016.” The first instalment of Nissan’s #UniteAndExcite campaign can be viewed at http://www.nissan.co.uk/uniteandexcite
