Samsung supports Prince’s Trust Celebrate Success awards with #forwardthinking

Friday March 7, 2014 at 3:16pm
Samsung is backing The Prince’s Trust with a social media push aimed at driving awareness for the youth charity in the run up to the Trust’s flagship awards series Celebrate success. The technology behemoth, which is a gold patron of the Prince’s Trust, is rolling a campaign that includes a Facebook application, available now, which tells the stories of inspirational young people who have benefitted from the work of The Prince’s Trust and been recognised through The Prince’s Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards. The app encourages people to show support for the youth charity by forwarding on the inspirational stories and thoughts through Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest. Gizzie Erskine, who is a mentor for Samsung’s Launching People programme, has shown her support for the #forwardthinking campaign by sharing an inspirational quote and story of her own inspiration quote. In addition to the Facebook app, Samsung has wrapped its flagship brand store at Westfield Stratford in the #forwardthinking branding, with store staff promoting the campaign to customers. Samsung’s iconic Piccadilly Circus screen is also being used to drive awareness of the campaign using the platform to screen a short film starring several of last year’s Celebrate Success Awards winners in the run up to the event. Youth charity The Prince’s Trust helps disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track. Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training. To support The Prince’s Trust and ‘forward’ on the inspirational stories visit: www.samsungforwardthinking.com. John Hibbert, corporate partnerships manager at The Prince’s Trust, said: “We are excited Samsung is helping us to celebrate ten years of Celebrate Success. Too many young people are facing unimaginable difficulties such as unemployment, homelessness and mental health issues and too many are experiencing them alone. Together, we can help raise awareness of the vital work of The Trust, while at the same time helping to celebrate the achievements of those who have turned their lives around.” Andy Griffiths, president of Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, added: “The #forwardthinking initiative aims to highlight just some of the inspirational young people who have benefitted from The Trust, raising awareness of the fantastic work it does day in, day out. I would like to encourage everyone out there to show their support for this charity, and the young people's lives it changes, by joining our #fowardthinking campaign through the Facebook application.”
