Real,- gives away World Football Stars Top Trumps

German hypermarket operator Real,- (part of the German trade and retail giant Metro Group) has launched a summer shopper loyalty programme involving a link with Top Trumps. Real,- will be giving away four World Football Stars Top Trumps cards, each featuring a player from a top European football club, with every basket spend of €15. There are 54 Top Trumps cards in total to collect. The activity is being supported with on-site posters, in-store POS and also on Real,-’s social sites. The promotion was devised by Winning Moves UK and Brand Loyalty. BrandLoyalty is a global market leader in the field of loyalty programmes within the food retail sector. Carl Cliss of Winning Moves says: “This is a high-profile promotion that took a great deal of effort and know-how to bring to fruition. It is the culmination of having a strong brand, a simple game and vast experience in working with licensors in the football world.” Winning Moves is the owner of Top Trumps, the highly popular card game brand that has sold over 70 million packs in the last 12 years. Top Trumps has featured in a number of promotional partnerships in the recent past, with clients such as the Daily Mirror, McDonald’s, Sky News, Cheestrings, Pepsi Max, BMW and Peugeot amongst others. Winning Moves was formed in 1997 to exploit a number of classic toy and games properties, including a number owned by Hasbro. In addition to Top Trumps, Winning Moves also produces limited edition city, football and specialist editions of the board game Monopoly, including versions for Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC, Manchester United FC, Manchester City and Liverpool FC. It has also produced special editions for One Direction, Family Guy, High School Musical and the British Army.
