Taylors of Harrogate samples London Tour de France
Monday July 7, 2014 at 11:00am
Taylors of Harrogate is handing out special sample packs of its Yorkshire Tea – or Yorkshire Thé, as it says on the packaging – at London railway stations today (July 7th 2014) to celebrate the arrival of the world’s biggest cycling event in the UK capital. Taylors is an Official Supporter of the Tour de France Grand Départ, and had two Yorkshire Tea vehicles travelling the route before the initial stage of the race from Leeds, through the Yorkshire countryside (see picture), and back to Harrogate, throwing sample boxes of tea to the crowds. Taylors also ran activities at the three day Le Tour event in Leeds. Today, the company organised teams at key mainline London stations to hand out more sample packs. As part of the promotional activity, Taylors is also offering prizes of a year’s supply of Yorkshire Tea. There are 30 prizes to be won, 10 prize packs for each of the three days the Tour de France is in the UK, so today is the last day people can enter. People enter by getting hold of one of the special sample packs and tweeting a picture of themselves holding it to #teaonletour.
