Give a friend a Bud via Facebook

US beer company Anheuser-Busch has launched a new mobile gifting pilot on Facebook which allows American users of the social media platform to send their friends a Budweiser or Budweiser Light. The giant brewer has partnered with online gift certificate company Gratafy for the test. Gratafy has over 500 restaurant and bar partner locations across six US markets, which will redeem its mobile gift certificates. The Bud service is being launched through a series of Anheuser-Busch campaigns that will target consumers across the US via their Facebook News Feeds, offering them the ability to send friends a Budweiser (budweiser.com/budsforbuds) or Bud Light (budlight.com/birthday) in selected cities, beginning with Chicago and Denver. Gratafy has developed patent pending point of sale (POS) integration technology that enables in-venue redemption at partner restaurants and bars. The POS technology also allows Gratafy to provide brands with analytics, increasing the quality of their experiential marketing campaigns and helping to more effectively direct marketing spend.
