Promotional risk insurer Worldwide Special Risks had a unique involvement at Wembley Stadium last weekend, with company co-founder Mick Luckhurst centre field for the honorary coin toss to start off the NFL showpiece game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Detroit Lions. Although from Redbourn in Hertfordshire, Luckhurst actually played for the Atlanta Falcons in the late 1980s, becoming a familiar face to UK fans through Channel 4’s groundbreaking coverage of the sport. After a successful career as the kicker for the Falcons, retiring as their all-time leading scorer, he spent eight years fronting the coverage for C4 and writing for the Telegraph. Worldwide Special Risks, set up in the UK in 1995 to underwrite high value prizes for holes-in-one on golf days, have diversified since then to provide a wide range of promotional insurance solutions for global brands and agencies. Offering customers the chance to win high value prizes through chance or skill based mechanics is a speciality for Worldwide Special Risks and to celebrate the Wembley showpiece game it offered clients and agencies the chance to win a $10,000 prize around the Wembley event.
