Coca-Cola celebrates Christmas with a new TV commercial, the iconic ‘Holidays are Coming’ ad and truck tour and a digital platform enabling consumers to send personalised Christmas wishes to loved ones. This year’s Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour will see the trucks touring over 40 hotspots and cities across the country and will be supported by product sampling, a choir and a photo experience. The famous ‘Holidays are Coming’ TV commercial will break during the X Factor on Saturday November 8. The campaign will also feature a new TV ad inspired by acts of kindness which will also air that evening. The new-look ad “Give A Little Happiness” opens with a scene featuring the iconic Coca-Cola Father Christmas and a number of different acts of kindness involving friends, families and amongst strangers. It shows people carrying out simple acts of kindness for the ones they love and sharing what they have when they can. It is set to a soundtrack featuring Jimmy Durante’s “Make Someone Happy” to further inspire happy feelings associated with the festive period. To extend and personalise the theme of giving a little happiness, Coca-Cola will introduce an e-commerce platform and personalised digital greetings card to amplify excitement and engagement online. The digital greetings card will allow people to send a personalised video message to family and friends. Consumers will be able to visit www.cokezone.com/uk/en/coca-cola/make-a-wish to create and send a Christmas wish to a loved one by truck, elf, bottle or magic. The e-commerce platform www.mycoca-cola.com will encourage gifting with Coca-Cola’s Limited edition Christmas glass bottle, a bottle with a label that transfers into a Christmas bow. The wider multi-channel Christmas campaign includes Out-Of-Home and a nod to the successful Share a Coke campaign with special Share a Coke with Santa’s reindeers 500ml bottles. Bobby Brittain, UK marketing strategy and activation director for Coca-Cola Great Britain explains: "Coca-Cola has a long standing legacy of spreading festive cheer during this season and our much loved campaigns mark the unofficial countdown to Christmas. Our focus on acts of kindness remains true to the values of our Open Happiness global marketing campaign. This year our Christmas campaign will serve our fans with a more personalised brand experience than ever before.” The new TV commercial was created by Ogilvy & Mather.
