CI Group has acquired brand marketing agency Roundtable, and Peter Thompson, founder and CEO of Roundtable, will become CI Group chairman. Roundtable was founded by Thompson, who was previously CEO of G2 EMEA, WPP’s largest brand activation network agency, and also founder and CEO of integrated agency Joshua. CI Group now consists of two companies, Corporate Innovations and Roundtable, which are complementary and which together will provide a full service marketing communications offering. Corporate Innovations will continue to provide below-the-line experiential, events, reward, promotional and shopper activations across B2C and B2B, in both analogue and digital mediums. Roundtable, meanwhile, will continue to provide design, advertising, social, experiential and direct response marketing and strategic brand development, engagment and advocacy work. David Watt, managing director of Corporate Innovations and CEO of CI Group, says: “I’m delighted that Roundtable is joining CI Group and I’m very excited about future business development prospects from the two complementary agencies joining forces.” Peter Thompson adds: “I’m delighted that Roundtable is now part of CI Group. For the past few months Roundtable and Corporate Innovations have gravitated to working together more closely and this now feels the right time to cement the relationship into something more permanent.” Corporate Innovations and Roundtable will continue to work from their respective offices in Oxfordshire and Soho, London. Peter Thompson will continue as CEO of Roundtable. Corporate Innovations is a multi-award winning marketing communications agency focused on engaging consumers, business partners and employees through incentives and promotions, live and experiential events and reward programmes. Clients include Pepsico, United Biscuits, Camelot and Symantec. Roundtable clients include AIG, Fujitsu, G Shock and SAB Miller. The picture shows Peter Thompson (left) and David Watt.
