Employee and customer engagement solutions provider Grass Roots has created a new chief strategy officer role as part of an overhaul of its executive leadership team. Andy Lister, who was previously chief operating officer, has taken on the position. Lister has a long history with Grass Roots and a strong track-record for developing and launching new products. He will concentrate on ensuring that Grass Roots’ product portfolio is compelling and profitable and on identifying global growth opportunities. In addition, New Product Development will move into Lister’s remit. The changes are part of the group’s ambitious growth plans for 2015, and also see Zarin Patel, previously chief financial officer, expanding her responsibilities and becoming COO, incorporating the group finance function. Patel has significant operational and financial experience, and joined Grass Roots last year from the BBC, where she was its longest-serving CFO. Finally, Ian Horsham, divisional director for Promotions & Incentives, is to take on management responsibility for the Grass Roots businesses in Singapore, India and Spain, territories in which he is already growing Grass Roots’ global portfolio. The Grass Roots Group achieved the best trading results in its 34-year history in 2014 and, following this success, various investment commitments have been made in order to achieve ambitious growth plans. The Grass Roots Group is the world’s leading provider of employee and customer engagement solutions. Founded in the UK in 1980, it has offices in 15 countries throughout the world and provides services in over 100 countries. Grass Roots is an affiliate of WPP.
