Budgens, the independent retail store brand, is running a promotion offering 02 Priority customers free Green & Blacks chocolate. Proximity marketing is being used to push consumers to their nearest Budgens to claim their chocolate. O2 Priority members are being offered a free 100g bar of the new Green & Blacks Thins, available in milk, dark and salted caramel chocolate, as part of the new promotion in Budgens stores. The offer will also appear on members’ phone screens if they are within a five mile radius of a Budgens store. The offer is redeemable across 130 stores. It kicked off on April 16 and finishes on April 26, or while stocks last. To claim the chocolate, O2 customers log on to the O2 Priority app via their mobile phone, click on the Budgens offer and then show their on-screen voucher once they reach the check-out in store. Mike Baker, Brand Director at Budgens, says: “More than 4,000 customers redeemed our first O2 Priority promotion and we’re delighted to offer this brand new Green & Blacks bar in store. Promotions like this help bring new consumers into our stores to discover everything Budgens has to offer.” Budgens became an O2 Priority partner in January 2015 and is live on the mobile operator’s platform, which boasts around five million active users in the UK. Budgens is an independent retail brand and forms part of the Musgrave Group. There are more than 170 Budgens stores across the UK ranging from petrol forecourts to neighbourhood supermarkets, independently owned by Budgens retailers.
