Capri-Sun offers NY trip in Minions link-up

Coca-Cola Enterprises has joined forces with upcoming family film, Minions, to launch a new Capri-Sun on-pack promotion and limited edition Capri-Sun flavour, BanApple. The Minions on-pack promotion will feature on all 10-pack Capri-Sun variants, including the new No Added Sugar range, and will offer consumers the chance to win one of 2,000 squishy Minions and a family trip to New York. The star prize trip to New York is for two adults and two children aged up to 11 and includes three nights' accommodation in a minimum three star hotel plus entry to various family attractions around the city. This year’s activity is a continuation of the successful partnership between Capri-Sun and 2013’s top grossing Despicable Me 2 film. The promotion will be supported with in-store displays and a £200,000 press campaign targeting gatekeeper mums. The new BanApple variant – made from banana and apple juice – will be available in selected retailers this month, before being rolled out across wider grocery channels in May. The new flavour will add to the £94m strong brand, which is in 4.6% growth. Caroline Cater, Operational Marketing Director at Coca-Cola Enterprises, says: “The Capri-Sun range is already a popular choice as it’s an ideal format for a variety of occasions, with a range of much-loved flavours. The new BanApple variant is set to build on this existing popularity. The Minions film franchise is tipped to be a great success this Summer, so we’re confident that the new variant and on-pack promotion will further boost the brand’s growth.”
