Green Giant unveils new Minions holiday prize campaign

Green Giant and Universal Studios have linked up for a new multi-channel promotional campaign ahead of the release of the animated film, Minions, this summer. The partnership includes a national radio campaign with Heart FM, wide-ranging digital and social media support, as well as in-store activity and a Minion Movie themed on-pack promotion. The new Green Giant packaging features the three Minion stars of the forthcoming movie. The on-pack promotion will run across the brand’s top-selling multipacks and will offer shoppers the opportunity to enter a competition with a star prize of a family holiday to The Alps for two adults and two children aged two to 11. There are also weekly prizes of Minions luggage cases to be won. The competition runs until the end of December 2015. Jennifer Jorgensen, Marketing Director at General Mills, says: “Partnering with a movie on this scale is a first for Green Giant and it provides a high-profile platform that is the ideal context to reach our target family audience. With less than two months to go, there’s already a huge buzz around its release and being associated as an official partner is sure to increase awareness and demand for Green Giant.”
