Universal Orlando runs Harry Potter experiential at King's Cross

NBC Universal Parks & Reports is celebrating the first birthday of the Diagon Alley attraction at its Universal Orlando theme park with an experiential activation at King’s Cross station today (Monday July 6th 2015). The activity was created, planned and executed by experiential specialists Tribe Marketing and staffing agency Brand Warriors. Harry Potter lovers will be able to have their picture taken against a specially-created 3D graffiti image of Diagon Alley, giving the illusion of actually stepping into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. Diagon Alley is immediately familiar to anyone who has read the best selling books as the place where Harry and his friends – and enemies – can buy all the kit they need for Hogwarts School or visit their treasures in Gringott’s Bank. NBC Universal Parks & Resorts commissioned 3D graffiti artists Max’n’Joe to recreate the main street of Diagon Alley in chalk, alongside some classic movie props. Passers by will be able to have their pictures taken against the backdrop, view the results immediately via the campaign microsite www.myuniversalmoment.co.uk and share them on social media. Brand Warriors will be on hand to engage with consumers as they queue for their photo opportunity. Chris Russell, managing director of Tribe Marketing, says: “As the father of three young Harry Potter fans, bringing Diagon Alley to life like this has been a brilliant experience. Our brief was to promote Universal Orlando and its Harry Potter attractions in as magical a way as possible and this activity certainly delivers. And what better place to celebrate than King’s Cross, the starting point for so many magical adventures for Harry and his friends?”
