As part of its Better Play grass roots football campaign, McDonald’s UK has launched the #CelebrateBetter social media promotion, which aims to find the best kid’s goal celebrations at local five-a-sides, community football matches and back gardens across the country. The campaign asks families to tweet photos of their children’s goal celebrations with the hashtag #CelebrateBetter to @betterplayuk for a chance to become a player escort at a Euro 2016 match. Children aged between 6-10 years old to take part in the competition. McDonald’s is looking for celebrations that are “passionate”, “fun” and that have “a dash of creativity”. The competition is open until August 30th, and the best celebration will be announced on Twitter on Monday 7th September. Prizes on offer include five pairs of tickets to the FA Community Shield at Wembley presented by McDonald’s on August 2nd 2015, 25 £100 Kitlocker vouchers and the star prize, a trip for one child and an adult to a UEFA Euro 2016 match in France plus a Player Escort place. This includes flight and travel, accommodation, match tickets and Player Escort experience for one 6-10 year old and a parent/guardian. McDonald’s is also inviting families to take part in its Community Football Days, being held throughout the summer across the UK. Families can find their local Community Football Days on the McDonald’s website, where they’ll also find opportunities to referee, coach or volunteer at the events.
