Thursday August 13, 2015 at 5:37pm
The UK release of summer blockbuster Pixels: The Movie from Sony Pictures is being supported by major promotional partnerships with Sony Mobile and the UK’s number one network O2, leading family restaurant chain Little Chef, energy drink brand Kick Energy, SFC Southern Fried Chicken and anti-virus software brand Kaspersky. The comprehensive brand partnership campaign has been put together by agency Brand & Deliver. The five complementary partners have been recruited to engage a wide consumer base of families, teenagers and males age 16-26 across digital and social platforms with opportunities to win a trip to New York and Sony tech bundles, alongside on-pack, dining and retail promotions. Pixels: The Movie stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and Michelle Monaghan in a battle against intergalactic aliens who are intent on attacking the Earth using video games such as PAC-MAN and Space Invaders as the models for their assaults. Specialists in entertainment marketing, Brand & Deliver are retained by a number of major studios and entertainment rights holders to negotiate film partnership campaigns. B&D’s Head of Partnerships Richard Barnes says: “Pixels gives us a treasure trove of the world’s favourite classic video game characters to bring to life in digital, print and on pack promotions. It’s a gift for brands seeking a fun and memorable summer partnership.” Peter Taylor, Managing Director of Sony Pictures, observes: “Pixels: The Movie is a fast-moving, family-friendly adventure with strong nostalgic adult appeal. These partners will help us get the message out there that this is the movie everyone needs to see this summer.”
