Entry Criteria Rising Star Award

Entry for The IPM COGS 2014 is now closed; the shortlist will be announced on August 15th, and the trophies will be awarded at a Gala Lunch to be held at the Grange Hotel, St Pauls, on September 19th.

This award recognizes the achievements and outstanding contribution of an individual of 30 years of age or younger (as of the date of entry) to the promotional marketing industry in the provision of a service.   

The entry submission is to be text only, of no more than 1,000 words and should be submitted using our online entry form.

It must be submitted by the individual, not by a third party such as an employer or colleague.

Judges will be looking for information under the following headings:   

1.   Career history 

2.   Professional qualifications and memberships of professional bodies 

3.   Evidence of skill development and future plans to build on this 

4.   Summary of outstanding achievements 

5.   Thoughts and proposed solution for the greatest challenge / issue facing the UK Promotional Marketing industry 

6.   Evidence of contribution to raising the standards and driving professionalism in the UK Promotional Marketing Industry 

7.   One case study which showcases what this individual does best 

8.   Two testimonials - one from this person’s current employer and the other from a client, other than that in the case study 

9.   Brief overview of why this person is worthy of winning the ‘Individual of the Year’ title.

Supplementary information to be included with the main entry – which will be made public in the event this entry is shortlisted:   

1.   100 word executive summary of why this person is worthy of the title: “Rising Star”. 

NOTE: This text may be used in PR and other collateral, so it should not contain any confidential information.   

2.   Two (2) images to support the entry (300dpi in JPEG, GIF or PNG formats) at least one of which should be a head and shoulders picture of the individual.  

NOTE: These images are not part of the judging process.  They may be used at the Awards ceremony and/or for future marketing collateral for the COGS awards and/or for other use by the IPM such as web content, case studies or educational material.
