New free promotional marketing seminars

Promotional marketing, and the challenges the industry faces, are providing the topics for a new series of free evening seminars being organised by the University of Westminster and the IPM in Central London.    

The seminars are designed for IPM members and those who work in, or have an interest in, the promotional marketing industry. Students are also encouraged to attend – particularly if they are hoping to work in promotional marketing.   

The first in the series, entitled State of the Nation: Shopper Marketing and the Promotions Industry, takes place on Thursday 6th March 2014 between 6.00pm and 8.15pm, followed by a reception and networking opportunity.

Seminar One: True today... but gone tomorrow?

Paul Godwin, Head of Insight at the IPM, brings you the latest research into the amount spent by the UK’s marketers on promotional marketing every year. Listen to his insights into what is growing and what is going, right across the promotional spectrum, from discounts to mobile.   

Colin Harper, former-Head of Insight at the IPM and author of "Beyond Shopper Marketing," brings you unique views and case studies on how traditional promotional techniques can be re-invented to meet the challenges of the current discount-dominated retail environment.   

Richard West, a senior lecturer at the University of Westminster, talks about the biometric responses to sales promotions and introduces new research into developing more-impactful creative.
