In this regular item we catch up with one of our members...
Sian Baker, Managing Director of The Producers, tells us what they’ve been up to this year, her thoughts on emerging industry trends, and what she’d say to a new business target if she had 30 seconds with them in a lift.
IPM: Hi Sian, thanks for talking to us, How are things going at The Producers at the moment? SB: Pleasure, thank you for talking to me too ;) It’s been nearly a year since we launched The Producers outside of PrettyGreen so it’s been a very exciting time getting out and meeting new and existing clients and talking about our stand-alone events and experiential offering. Think our understanding of how to create PR’able events and experiences that people share and talk about is a really compelling space for Clients and helping clients solve problems is really what we love and what we are here to do.
IPM:How is your business developing and evolving – any interesting plans for the rest of the year you can share with us?! SB:Well obviously I’m under some very strict NDA’s but we have some very exciting experiences coming up throughout the year. A couple of projects I can talk about though…
We are creating, producing and directing the IAAF Athletics Awards again for the 4th year which is an amazing project as well as technically producing their 52nd Congress out in Doha for the IAAF World Championships. So, lots of exciting athletics to look forward to.
We are supporting our sister PR agency PrettyGreen with a whole host of media and product launches including a launch for Mighty Mike with Turner Media, our second year supporting Audible for the Marathon – which always makes us want to do the marathon and then we realise it’s 26.2 miles…eeek! And we will be back on the road with LEGO later this year, getting creative with bricks and some very exciting new AR tech for Hidden Side.
IPM:What is the most exciting thing happening in the industry as you see it? SB: We are really excited about innovation and technology and how this will be reshaping the experiential industry. There has been so much hype around VR/AR/AI/projections/RFID but now we are really seeing what the tech can do and how we can harness it to make experiences better and deliver for brands. In fact, we are so excited about this that we will be hosting our second Breakfast Briefing on Technology in April (keep an eye on our website www.hellotheproducers.com for more info) where will be discussing the tech and trends with an exciting panel of brands & clients.
IPM:You find yourself in a lift with a new business target, you've got 30 seconds to make an impression on behalf of The Producers - what would you say and do? SB: Oh gosh, such pressure. Well, I would probably introduce myself and say how weird and uncomfortable this is, and when someone starts talking to you in a lift you most likely think they are a nutter or a serial killer. But it’s OK because I’m definitely neither. I would however love to talk to you about your (insert new biz target in here) so let me just tell you four things about The Producers.
We are a great creative production agency.
We work with Clients like LEGO, Virgin Media, Audible, IAAF, Square Enix.
We love making Clients problems go away.We create brand experiences and events that people talk about, and we know how to really deliver ROI.
Oh, and we are 100% NOT nutters or serial killers. *Wink!*
IPM:Thanks so much for your time Sian – have a great day! SB: You too!
