Carolyn Mason, Owner of experience staff in London and Cannes, France, tells us what they’ve been up to over the past few months, her thoughts on the need for connecting brands with IPM accredited staffing agencies, the benefit of brands running international campaigns and what she’d say to a senior new business target if she had 30 seconds with them in a lift.

IPM: Hi Carolyn, thanks for talking to us, How are things going at experience staff at the moment?
CM: We’ve had a super exciting year so far, experience staff launched in 2018 and we’ve had the privilege of working with amazing dynamic brands this year including Visa, Adidas, FIFA, Gymshark, TedTalks and Vans. We supply local, worldwide promotional staff for brands who are often new, innovative and disrupting their industry. We also specialise in worldwide promotional activity, recognising that brands are getting braver and want to run international campaigns with local, legally employed staff.

IPM: How is your business developing and evolving – any interesting plans you can share with us?!
CM: experience staff are becoming more international at the demand of our brands, this year we staffed major promotional staffing campaigns in Los Angeles, Houston, Sydney, Frankfurt and our staffing agency in France is growing rapidly. We are also expanding our conference and exhibition staffing teams in the UK and overseas next year.

IPM: How do you hope the IPM staffing accreditation scheme to help the staffing industry?
CM: The promotional staffing really requires trade body representation – unlike acting with Equity – there is no support, representation or protection of promotional workers in the UK. By promoting the use of IPM members to brands and marketing agencies who ensure best practice, legal employment and fair working conditions - the scheme will really improve the industry.

IPM: You find yourself in a lift with a new business target, you've got 30 seconds to make an impression on behalf of experience staff - what would you say and do?
CM I love to travel so my question is normally where they visited last and if they have ever considered running an event or promotional campaign abroad and if experience staff can help!
